Our Philosophy
Whimsy is prized, for without it, items may become ponderous, boring or overly self important. Mostly our gallery is stocked with items that beyond their general desirability offer a smile, a chuckle or a sense of delight. Occasionally a piece with importance or larger presence is offered for it's exceptional nature and speciality.
We prize characteristics that imbue our collection with remembrance, connection and life in the real world. Scratches, dents, cracks, and crazings are proof positive of both reality of use and that an item was considered necessary for personal utility. Of course many items are revered and worshipped for other important personal reasons as well, traveling through life unscathed and they may be appreciated for that as well. There are also the wabi sabbi characteristics of being misshapen, exceedingly worn, broken or discolored that add to any other mysteries that may exist in a piece.
Chattels and Trappings is about the work of re-placing items into new hands that will experience appreciation for and connection to some of history's oddments and disjecta membra.

Our collections at any given time can contain items from as early as the late 18th century through mid 20th century all the way up to items that have been created yesterday and shelved today. The items change weekly and sometimes daily.
